Asus router Installation
The new Asus Wi-Fi routers have to be installed and setup properly for connecting to its wireless network for networking and gaming needs. Router.asus.com is the web domain that allows Asus router setup, login and configuration. For setting up the Asus router wireless network, you must install the router by making required connections between the router and the other devices on home network modem and a computer with an Ethernet cable so that you can have an access to Asus router supporting web browser for default router login through router.asus.com.
You can setup your Asus routers by initially connecting it using a wired connection or a wireless connection to other devices.
Asus Router installation and setup using a wired connection:
A wired router connection is considered to be safe and provides stable wireless network connectivity for asus router login and configuration via router.asus.com. It requires a use of either a straight through Ethernet cable or a crossover cable for connecting the asus router to other devices.
- Attach the AC adapter of the Asus router to the DC-IN port for power supply.
- Make connection between your desktop computer and the Asus router by attaching the Ethernet cable from computer to one of the four LAN ports of the Asus router.
- Also, connect your modem to the WAN port of your Asus router using an Ethernet cable again.
- Attach your modem’s AC adapter to power source through DC-IN port.
Asus router installation and setup wirelessly:
- Attach the AC adapter of the Asus router to the DC-IN port for power supply.
- Also, connect your modem to the WAN port of your Asus router using an Ethernet cable again.
- Attach your modem’s AC adapter to power source through DC-IN port.
- Install a WLAN adapter on your computer.
After connecting your Asus router to modem and computer, you need to connect to your Asus router’s wireless network following routerlogin.net login for Netgear router configuration of wireless network settings after entering the intuitive web GUI of the Asus router.
Asus router setup – using a Quick Internet Setup (QIS)
The Quick Internet Setup (QIS) function of the Asus router allows easy and very quick Asus router setup asthe QIS function has an auto detection capability of configuring the internet connection settings automatically which makes the Asus router setup complete within minutes through logging into the Asus router’s web user interface via Asus router default login router.asus.com.
- Access the Asus router supporting web browser by launching the web browser on Asus router’s wired or wireless network connected computer or laptop.
- Login to the web GUI of the Asus router by entering the web address router.asus.com in the web browser for Asus router setup and configuration.
- Alternatively, try logging into the Web GUI of the Asus router through default IP address 192.168.1.1 as it redirects you to the login page of the Asus router for accessing the web GUI.
- The Asus router login page opens up prompting for the default login credentials for Asus router login on the Asus router login screen.
- Enter the default username and password for Asus router login via router.asus.com, which is both admin by default.
- Router.asus.com login launches the QIS page automatically on first time login and if the Asus router has not been setup previously.
- QIS function on the Asus router then automatically detects your ISP connection type and configures if it is Dynamic IP, PPPoE, PPTP and L2TP and will ask you to enter the required information for the ISP whenever it is required.
Note: The QIS function auto detects your ISP connection type when you configure ASUS router for the first time through router.asus.com login or after you have performed Asus router resetting to the factory default settings.
- If in any case, the QIS fails to detect the Internet connection type, click on the Skip to manual settings option and perform the Asus router configuration for your internet connection settings on the router manually.
- Assign the asus router’s wireless network settings SSID and key for both of your 2.4GHz and 5 GHz wireless connection separately and one by one.
- Click Apply to save the settings following which the Internet and wireless settings will be displayed thereafter on the screen.
The Asus router setup is completed after configuration of wireless network settings and internet connection settings and you can connect your networking or gaming devices to the Asus router’s wireless network through wireless network settings.
